NO, a baby carrier is a good alternative.
Is the visit suitable for young children?
Yes, as there is no particular danger, but children must hold hands with an adult and remain under the supervision of their parents. They must not run on the footbridges, or climb the railings.
Is the visit suitable for the elderly and pregnant women?
Yes, as the visit is not challenging or difficult as long as sufficient time is taken. Benches are provided for your use along the way.
Is special attire required (clothing, footwear)?
No, but it is advisable to wear closed shoes (ideally flat ones).

Can I reach the Gorges du Fier by public transport?
Since September 2009 you can reach Lovagny by bus. From Annecy take the line #1 to Poisy then change for #12 to Lovagny. From the bus stop to the Gorges du Fier you'll have to walk about 1km.
